ConQuest: A National Quiz on the Indian Constitution

ConQuest was a national quiz on the Indian Constitution, run by QShala with the Centre for Law and Policy Research in Bengaluru. Undergraduate students from every discipline, not only law, took part, and more than 6,500 students played over the years.

Why the Constitution, and why a quiz

The Constitution shapes daily life, from the rights we hold to the way institutions work, but many young people only meet it in a textbook chapter. ConQuest was designed to make the Constitution feel alive.

Its questions covered the Constitution, law, history, politics and current affairs, so students saw how a document written decades ago connects to the news they read today.

Open to every discipline

A student of engineering, commerce, literature or science has as much stake in the Constitution as a law student. ConQuest was open to all of them.

Teams came from different subjects and brought different ways of thinking to the same question, which made for better answers and livelier debate.

Zones and the Grand Finale

ConQuest's zonal rounds ran in Bengaluru, Kolkata, Pune and Delhi, with regional partners in each. The winning teams from the zones met in a Grand Finale in Bengaluru. The Print was the digital media partner.

A quiz that builds citizens

The Centre for Law and Policy Research and QShala share a simple aim: to help young people understand, question and care about the rules that govern them. A quiz is a friendly and fun way to engage with the Constitution.
